Everything hangs in the balance. It’s Rivalry Week in college football, the last week of the regular season (aside from the Army-Navy Game), and everything’s still up for grabs. Division titles will be decided. College Football Playoff fates will be sealed. Millions of people will be tuning in this Thanksgiving weekend, hoping their favorite teams crush their bitter rivals; here are five games in particular that should bring some soft money into the betting market.
Friday
No. 5 Washington at No. 23 Washington State (3:30 PM ET, FOX)
The Huskies (10-1 SU, 5-6 ATS) and Cougars (8-3 SU, 6-5 ATS) have been fighting over the Apple Cup since 1900. Washington is a 7-point road favorite this year with a total of 64. Whoever wins will take the Pac-12 North title, and if the Huskies prevail, their CFP dreams remain alive.
Saturday
No. 3 Michigan at No. 2 Ohio State (12 PM ET, ABC)
If you have time for only one game this weekend, make it The Game. Odds are still pending for this Big 10 battle between Michigan (10-1 SU, 5-6 ATS) and Ohio State (10-1 SU, 6-5 ATS). The winner will earn at least a share of the East Division title and continue rolling toward the CFP.
No. 13 Auburn at No. 1 Alabama (3:30 PM ET, CBS)
Believe it or not, the Crimson Tide (11-0 SU, 8-3 ATS) haven’t punched their CFP ticket yet. If they lose the Iron Bowl to Auburn (8-3 SU and ATS), then lose the SEC title to Florida, Alabama’s whole season could go up in smoke. Odds for this matchup are pending at press time.
Notre Dame at No. 12 USC (3:30 PM ET, ABC)
There was optimism around the Trojans (8-3 SU, 7-4 ATS) this year, and after a slow start, they can make it eight straight wins by taking the Jeweled Shillelagh from Notre Dame (4-7 SU and ATS). The Fighting Irish are 17.5-point road dogs with a total of 58.
No. 15 Florida at No. 14 Florida State (8 PM ET, ABC)
This Florida Cup rivalry between the Gators (8-2 SU, 4-5-1 ATS) and the Seminoles (8-3 SU, 6-4 ATS) has some extra mustard on it. Jimbo Fisher’s senior class is looking for the career sweep over Florida after winning the past three games; the ‘Noles are in good shape as 7.5-point home favorites with a 46-point total.
