NFL Live: Giants Offense Could Explode on Sunday
by Bovada Sportsbook Staff | Dec. 6, 2012
New York’s offense could explode versus one of the league’s worst defenses.
Just like 2011 the New York Giants are a tough team to peg. In Week 12 they easily knocked off the Green Bay Packers 38-10, only to lose to a rookie quarterback at Washington 17-16 in Week 13. Divisional matchups seem to be New York’s biggest issues this year as three of its five losses were at the hands of fellow NFC East squads.
After putting up just 16 points at Washington, the Giants offense gets a bit of a breather with the New Orleans Saints coming to New York. The Saints are one of the worst defenses in football, ranking dead last in total yards against and 28th in points allowed. With Saints quarterback Drew Brees looking to bounce back from a five interception outing last week, it has the makings of a Sunday-stealing shootout.
Players will be able to wager on every play and every down with Bovada Live betting.
Though Giants QB Eli Manning is completely capable of hanging with Drew Brees, we expect New York to avoid going shot for shot with the Saints QB early. The Saints ranks 32nd in run defense. That leaves the door open for Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw to run wild and keep the Saints O off the field. Unless the Saints get out to an early lead we expect “run” wagers to earn a good chunk of change early in the game.

If the Giants lead in the fourth quarter, expect less pass attempts for Manning. Manning averages his lowest pass attempts in the fourth quarter this year. Giants coach Tom Coughlin likes to run the ball to secure his wins.
The second live betting matchup should be an all-out aerial assault: the Detroit Lions at the Green Bay Packers.
Despite a 4-8 record the Lions are top in passing yards this season. Detroit QB Matthew Stafford is finally posting 2011-12 numbers, and wide receiver Calvin Johnson is proving the “Madden Curse” doesn’t exist. Green Bay hasn’t been nearly as potent through the air this season, ranking 11th in passing yards. However, QB Aaron Rodgers should never be counted out in a shootout as he’s capable of lighting up any defense, especially one that ranks 25th in points against.
Detroit is coming off two straight games where they’ve scored and allowed over 30 points. Pass Complete should be a Live Betting moneymaker in this game.
