3 Best Baseball Betting Events To Watch This Week
The coming week in the world of sports will involve Major League Baseball action in Spring Training, as teams prepare to get in shape for the coming regular season in 2014.
MLB Baseball: Washington Nationals vs. Detroit Tigers (Friday)
This matchup is an interesting one because these two teams are going to look at the other side and wonder how different the season might have been if transactions had not occurred. The Nationals got starting pitcher Doug Fister from the Tigers, gaining a key arm in their rotation. Fister has spent most of his career in the American League, though, so now he’ll be switching to the National League. The transition could be rocky at first, but the reality of the pitcher batting ninth is something that should eventually help Fister.
MLB Baseball: Baltimore Orioles vs. Minnesota Twins (Friday)
This is a game between a team that came back down to earth last season and a team that has stayed down for the past few seasons. Everything went right for the Orioles in 2012 – they won almost every close game and had an uncanny ability for getting the bit hit in the latter innings of a game. In 2013, the laws of averages caught up with them, so this year feels like one in which anything is possible. The Twins do not figure to compete in a stacked A.L. Central. This is an important time for players to develop.
MLB Baseball: Oakland Athletics vs. Kansas City Royals (Friday)
This is a matchup that could be a Division Series preview. At the very least, if this matchup does happen in October, nobody would be too surprised. Kansas City has built a tough team with a strong, deep bullpen and lots of speed on both offense and defense. Oakland’s young pitchers weren’t quite as good last year as they were in 2012, but the A’s did more than enough on offense to power to the playoffs once again. These are two young teams with bright futures.
